Privacy Notice

Discretion is not a feature of The Exit Society. It is the condition on which it operates.

This notice explains what personal information The Exit Society collects when you make a private enquiry, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to be read, not to be waded through.

Who is responsible for your information

The Exit Society is the data controller for the information described in this notice. For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights set out below, write to faye@theexitsociety.com.

What we collect

We collect only what you choose to tell us through the Register Private Interest form. Nothing is gathered about you from other sources, and we do not buy or enrich data.

We do not ask for financial details, identity documents, or sensitive personal data, and we would ask that you do not send them through the form.

Why we are permitted to hold it

We rely on two lawful bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. Where you have submitted an enquiry, we process your information to take steps at your request with a view to entering into a relationship with us, and in our legitimate interests in assessing and responding to that enquiry. Where you have gone further and given us consent for a particular use, you may withdraw it at any time.

How your information is used

• To consider your enquiry and assess eligibility as a Private Client.
• To respond to you personally and in confidence.
• To understand what you are looking for, should you become a Private Client.

Your information is never published, sold, rented, or made publicly searchable. There are no public profiles. Participation in The Exit Society gives no one automatic access to your details, and no introduction is ever made without mutual interest. There is no access without invitation.

Who else handles it

We keep the number of parties involved deliberately small. Each acts on our instructions and is bound to protect your information.

We do not use advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing platforms.

International transfers

Some of the providers above are based outside the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, principally in the United States. Where your information is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an applicable adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry proceeds, we retain your information for as long as you remain a Private Client, and for a reasonable period afterwards. If it does not proceed, we delete your information within 24 months of our last contact with you. You may ask us to delete it sooner at any time, and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no tracking of any kind. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you were not asked. The only external request the site makes is for the typefaces described above.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection, and enquiry submissions are transmitted encrypted. Access to enquiries is limited to those within the Society who need it. No system is perfect, but the smaller the number of people and platforms involved, the smaller the risk — which is how this has been built.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• have inaccurate information corrected;
• have your information deleted;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• receive it in a portable form;
• withdraw consent, where we relied on it; and
• complain to a data protection authority.

Write to faye@theexitsociety.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes materially, we will update the date at the top. Should the change affect how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly rather than rely on you noticing.
